JEWS UNITED FOR JUSTICE (JUFJ)

CUAH is housed at JUFJ, a 501(c)(3) organization.

JUFJ leads thousands in the Jewish community and broader greater Washington and Baltimore public to act on shared values and pursue justice in our local communities. JUFJ envisions an equitable, just, and safe greater Washington area, where the rights and dignity of all residents are respected and the voices of the most marginalized residents are heard. We believe that the only way to build such a community is for Jews to join with our neighbors and organize for local change.

 

Arab American Institute

Established in 1985 and based in Washington, DC, the Arab American Institute (AAI) is a non-profit, nonpartisan national leadership organization. AAI was created to nurture and encourage the direct participation of Arab Americans in political and civic life in the United States.

 

Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center

The mission of the APALRC is the advance the civil and legal rights of Asian Americans by focusing on providing linguistically accessible and culturally appropriate legal services to low-income Asian immigrants in Metro-DC who have limited English proficiency. The goal is to ensure that Asian Americans can access government services and the legal system to protect and enforce their right, and to seek full participation in American society. The APALRC seeks to accomplish this mission through a three-prong strategy that combines community legal education, individual representation, and systemic advocacy. The APALRC has a grant through Kaiser Permanente and Asians Advancing Legal Justice to stop Asian hate by educating, working with, and supporting the Asian Pacific American community in hate crimes and bias incidents.

 

Association of Vietnamese Americans (AVA)

AVA is the oldest Vietnamese American community based organization in Maryland. AVA has helped refugees and immigrants of all backgrounds secure housing, find jobs, study for US citizenship tests, and hosted US Naturalization Ceremonies.

 

Capital Area Interfaith Friends (CAIF)

CAIF is a youth-led interfaith service group whose mission is promoting friendship, unity, and tolerance between different faiths throughout our community.

 

CASA

CASA's mission is to create a more just society by building power and improving the quality of life in low-income immigrant communities. Our vision is a future with diverse and thriving communities living free from discrimination and fear, working together with mutual respect to achieve full human rights for all.

 

Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church (CLUUC)

CLUUC members include liberal Christians, Jews, Buddhists, atheists, and others who together explore the eternal as we support the worth and dignity of all people, and our responsibility to act for justice and to protect the Earth.

City of Rockville Human Rights Commission


The Rockville Human Rights Commission (HRC) is an 11-member group of volunteers, appointed by the Mayor and Council, that is charged with minimizing the effects of conflict and promoting an appreciation of diversity within the city. To meet these goals, the HRC provides a variety of services and educational and cultural programs that promote global thinking, encourage civic awareness, and/or reflect the rich diversity found in the city.

Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC)

CRCMC is a nonprofit dedicated to providing quality dispute prevention, resolution, and education to individuals and community organizations. Services are free to anyone who lives, works, volunteers, or attends school in Montgomery County.

 

DC Area Interfaith Gun Violence Prevention Network

The DC Area Interfaith Network to Prevent Gun Violence is an interfaith coalition of houses of worship in the D.C. Maryland and Virginia area working together to prevent gun violence through education, outreach and advocacy.

 

Do the Most Good Montgomery County (DTMG MoCo)

DTMG MoCo brings together people committed to protecting, defending, and furthering inclusive, progressive values throughout our community and our nation by establishing connections between our members and advocacy and political organizations.

 

Guru Gobind Singh Foundation (GGSF)

GGSF is a Sikh Spiritual Center, an institution with a vision to create worldwide awareness regarding Sikhs and Sikhism. GGSF also focuses on service oriented projects on behalf of Sikhs to implement the Sikh concept of Sewa (voluntary service).

 

Identity

Identity assists students and disconnected youth living in high poverty areas of Montgomery County. We work with them in schools and the community to help improve social and emotional learning, achieve academic success and prepare for work.

The Montgomery County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People aims to raise awareness for and combat racial discrimination.

 

Montgomery County's Office of Human Rights

The Office of Human Rights investigates incidents of hate/violence and complaints of discrimination. Victims of hate/violence crimes can seek compensation for replacement of property through the County's Partnership Fund, administered by the Office of Human Rights.

The Rainbow Youth Alliance (RYA) serves the community of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning teens and their allies—known to us as rainbow teens. RYA envisions a future in which rainbow teens have access to safe, nurturing environments where they are respected, listened to, and given information and skills.

TEMPLE SINAI

Temple Sinai is a Reform Jewish congregation located in Washington DC and lead by Senior Rabbi Jonathan Roos. A large part of their mission is tikkun olam, which means “repairing the world” in hebrew.
